We constantly strive to come up with new ideas to create unique custom jewelry you won't see elsewhere.
We started the bracelet project about five years ago in order to create a unique set of bracelets that could be crafted in our jewelry shop. We wanted to provide pieces that make a fashion statement and are local.
Our first sketches were a series of bracelets to help a client set a coin inherited from her father. These sketches turned into the bracelet project. Each year we have produced a new bracelet to complement this selection and have made variations of the originals.
We continued to progress with these designs making the bronze fan coral and silver bracelet, makume gane and silver bracelet, bronze cactus and silver bracelet, the wave bracelet and now the reticulated silver bracelet.
The reticulated silver bracelet was a design started over twelve months ago. Each phase of making this bracelet had to be thought out and many parts of it didn't work and had to be started over again. We had molds made of the different links so they could be cast to fit together. Each piece of the reticulated silver was fitted into the rectangular links and welded into place. The hinging and hinge pins had to be hand made so that the bracelet would lay properly. Finally, we used cabochon moonstones and rhodolite garnet to highlight this magnificent bracelet. Here is an image of the design sketch and link layout for the bracelet.
The final result was spectacular.
The prototype original bracelet sold during the holiday season of 2015. We are now taking what we learned from the original prototype and making a new version for 2016. Maybe you will be the lucky individual to receive this as a gift.
