A client came in with some very distinctive ideas for his girlfriend’s engagement ring. She loved the color light blue and wanted something other than a diamond for the center stone. We talked about many different gemstones that have a light blue color. My client really liked the unique blue hue that an aquamarine has. We explained that aquamarines are beautiful, but more fragile than diamonds. Ultimately the beauty of aquamarine, let them to this gemstone as their final choice. Another factor that contributed to selecting an aquamarine is how beautiful it is when set in rose gold. We combined a diamond halo and diamond shank which really highlights the beautiful color of the aquamarine.
My client brought in some pictures featuring a very unique under bezel that supports the halo design. The under has unique wire work with small round diamonds under the halo. Our CAD designer took all the unique design aspects in the pictures my client brought in and combined them to make this beautiful ring. Here are some images of the CAD designs.
Once the client reviewed and approved the final design we sent the file to be cast in rose gold. Once we received the casting, Marsha started filing and sanding so she could start the diamond setting. Marsha set 36 round brilliant diamonds in the shank, under bezel and halo. After finishing setting all the side diamonds, Marsha set the aquamarine center. The finished ring turned out incredibly beautiful.
