Commemorating Life's Most Important Moments

Going to see my first grandchild brought to mind how important the meaning is of the jewelry we sell.

I just had the wonderful experience of seeing my first grandchild. She is a beautiful baby girl living in Vermont with my son and daughter in law. Such a meaningful experience brought to mind how important the engagement and wedding jewelry we sell is to our clients because of what it represents. The engagement ring symbolizes the first step to a lifetime together.  Wedding rings portray the next step in a lifetime together and often the start of a family. We take the selling of diamonds very seriously as they are the hardest and most durable substance on the face of the earth and are used to symbolize a lifetime together. Jewelry has always been used by humanity to represent important milestones in life. Wearing wedding rings on the ring finger of the left hand dates all the way back to ancient Egypt. Ancient Egyptians believed the left hand ring finger connected enclosed a vein connected directly to the heart.

One of my favorite aspects of being in the jewelry business is to work with people through this important time. When people pick me to help with this experience, I find it to be a true honor to be able to bestow my knowledge and teach them about this important purchase. So many people walk into stores and spend a lot of money not knowing exactly what they are buying. This is not a good idea. Getting an education and doing your research is probably more important when buying your wedding jewelry than it is with other purchases. By going to the Gemological Institute of America website and reading about the 4Cs - cut, color, clarity and carat weight - can help you make a wise decision about your purchase.

The engagement and wedding ring are supposed to be a symbol of a lifetime together, so in my opinion thinking about these jewelry purchases in a prudent fashion is important. Buying a ring that has the durability to be worn on a daily basis and is practical for the long term is very important. Some of the styles that are popular today may not be as practical to be worn on a daily basis and endure the wear and tear of an active life. We of course will make and accommodate your taste, many times I voice my opinion during the process about long term wearibility when it comes to your wedding jewelry.

Here are some examples of wedding jewelry that we feel are very practical, stylish and wearable on a daily basis.
